These are secondhand, recycled kimonos.

This is a stylish recycled Oshima Tsumugi silk fabric in gray, woven with a rock garden pattern.
This is a single-layer Oshima Tsumugi silk fabric.
This outfit is recommended for occasions such as dining out with older people or friends, going to the theater, or going out in town (movies, shopping).

Tokiemon's life philosophy was "I dedicate my life to Tsumugi silk," and while basing his work on the traditional techniques of authentic Oshima Tsumugi silk, he sought out new designs and techniques, developing ikat and dyeing methods to faithfully express them, and worked to create works that were ahead of their time.
